Default Video from Infineon Raceway

Hey all. I haven’t posted much here but I have used these forums to help build my Honda Challenge car. I thought I would give a little back. From April 19, 2003 I have been building my 1995 Integra Lss for H4. In Sept of this year I got my rookie permit.

On Saturday it was raining, I had never raced in the rain before I tried to just stay on track. About half way through the race I got the meatball for sound. After the race a few fellow racers gave me some hints on rain racing.

On Sunday things dried out and I re-installed my factory muffler. I wanted to go out and make a good run. I managed to qualify third (my best yet) and finish third. This was my 4th race ever! Thanks to dry conditions and civicrr I had one heck of a race.

As I have an in-car camera I catch some good footage every now an then.
I spliced some footage together and tried my hand at editing (I have unedited version for you hardcore guys).

Here is my video from Sunday’s race. As usual please save the video to your computer.

Fun race to watch. What happened at the end there? It just sorta cuts off.
That's the most footage of Mike I've ever seen. Even got some of his in-car.

Yeah, that was the end. I was driving the mirrors all the way to the end....off line trying to protect & didn't brake enough. Barely kept it off the wall there @ the end. Couldn't see a gap between the door & wall!!

Car is D16Z6 powered 5th Gen coupe. Civic EX in a DX chassis. The EX died before I got my license. Revalved Koni's via CRXLee

Man, that is some funny ****. Now I why Mike's bumper is always black. The thing's magnetic: just seems to suck other cars right toward it. Probably gets pounded every time he paints it; he keeps running out of yeller paint and just leaves it Honda black until he has to throw it away and put on another. I can't believe you didn't run in to him. The way he way shaking his tail at you like that. He was begging for it...

Hey Mike, what's that black thing on your dash next to the tach? A Pelican case for your special pear?

Thawley -- A bit punchy from all the air tool noise, today.

C'mon now John, that was clean tight racing. I did make the legal 'one line change' into T10 on more than one lap, though.

The black thing on the dash is my super duper truck stop defroster. Keeps the fog away in the rain....like @ the 25 Hour!

You did a great job editing. Really good stuff. FYI, I'm pretty sure the reason the camera shots from up on the hill were so jerky was that he had his camera's image stabilization on. Those cameras really hate it when you're panning in "IS" mode. Don't know about the video cameras, but Canon's still camera lenses with IS have a special setting for pan shots. For video, it might just be better to leave it off all together.

Basically, I have a 95 Civic EX in a 93 DX shell. The 95 met an untimely death.

The Civic is running a HC 4 legal D16Z6 built by Griffin Motorwerke with ACT clutch & flywheel. KAAZ lsd. Suspension is ERS 700/800 with revalved Koni Sports (Thanks CRXLee). Stock EX bar up front (21mm) & Comptech 22mm bar/brace out back. Poly bushings except for the trailing arms which are Mugen. Skunk upper arms in front & Engalls in the rear. Rolling on Rota Slips 15X7 with Toyo RA-1s. Brakes are Cobalt Friction, from PDQ Motorsports, of course. Alignment & support by Auto Innovations. We just installed a new custom cage. The work was done by me & Mike Lock of GOTO racing. Sparco Corsa seat. Firesystem.
