Okay guys I had a question abou at 89 crx si. I plan on purchasing one on friday but have a question. The guy i'm buying it from said that he lost all keys to the ignition. Can a locksmith make me a new one if I bring it down there? If so, how much do you think i'm looking at? If not, do i have to buy a whole new ignition piece with a new key?

Also, is there a way i can just bypass the key? I'm new to the crx and don't know much about it, but I need to get another car very soon.

It seems pretty good for just this because i can talk him down to $300.

you should run the VIN numbers 1st, there is a chance that the CRX is hot.

there are companys that you can pay to cut new keys for you but it costs a lot of money. maybe go to a junkyard and find a used one or something.

 

so basically if i get it...that's like an extra 100 to spend. Also, are all crx ignition locks interchangeable?

 

just go to honda and they will ask for for your vin number or key code give it to them and they will make another for cheap, my friend that worked at honda got me one for a dollar.
