B16 tranny top speed at 8k
Im going to be putting in an lsvtec in my rex. I recently talked to my buddy who has a B16 swap in his rex and he said it pulls really hard but maxes at 115mph before it feels like you hit a brick wall..he had some nice big tires too..he also said his freeway rpms are ****...i thought a B16 tranny would bring u around 130mph shifting around 8k with like 15 in 50 series tires?? what are some of your freeway rpms with B16 tranny?
I have the cable YS1 from the JDM B16. Top speed @ 8000 rpm is 145. Trust me.
As far as freeway speeds, at 80mph, my tach says 4800, but my fuel controller says 4400. I trust the fuel controller, as my friend has a 92 integra gs-r with the same trans, and at 80 his tach reads 4400.

yea thats what my other friend told me its probably the ecu but i didnt know what kind he had. So im not sure what ecu the pr3 is? B18a, D16, b16a1? isnt it Pr4(b18a) Pr3(b16G1)??? damn im not sure if i want the obd0 ecu then unless i get it chipped...hmm i want to keep this obd0 because im building an lsvtec and can hide away with smog laws here in cali if i can keep it all obd0 but damn only 115? im looking for 130-145 is perfect...

You cant hide anything when you get sent to the REF. obd has nothing to do with "hiding" from the smog laws unless you get a B18A/B BAR approved and then go LS/Vtec later.

1st = 40
2nd = 62
3rd = 89
4th = 115
5th = 145
the JDM OBD0 PR3 ECU has a ~112 mph governer
so basically once you tach out in 4th you are done

or throw in a ls 5th gearset and chip that also, good gosh, wonder what theoretical top speed that would be...over 150 for sure, but you'll die in a burning ball of fire before you could claim to hit over 160

I've topped out my 99 civic si thanks to the vortech sc. Given that the speedo is probably off a little at that speed but the needle was buried past the 140 mark, somewhere near the 150ish mark.
Mine VTEC hits at 4200 in 5th gear on my b16a with a s1 tranny and I'm at like 85-90 mph. Havnt hit the governor yet and i have reached 120mph so far, I just ran out of room so I let off the gas.

that doesn't sound right. do you mean vtec @5200? 4200 rpm is about 70 with an s1. I think your ecu is chipped.

] Loving that!...i have to shift at 35 on my ls..it says 30 but i figure my MPH are climbing a tiny faster then my tach...

4200 rpm 85-90 mph s1 = it doesn't add up. Maybe it has the ls 5th gear.

I have an ls trans, and trust me, he's definitely running an ls fifth.

well someone get on the freeway real fast and tell me what youyr at doing 65 or 70!! dmanit i dont speed everywhere i go i just cruise till someone thinks they are fast in their stang then i jack um up!! i have an LS USDM S1 tranny and at 70 mph im at around 34-3500 im hoping that the B16 tranny isnt much worse then that...i dotn want to have to throw on some super swampers to lower my rpms
