Buying a used knuckle...
When purchasing a used knuckle, how can I check to make sure it's straight? Are there usually some index marks somewhere? I found one from a 2002 accord, with the hub and the LBJ for $75...

For me, I only buy junkyard front end bits that come off a car that I can see (with my own eyes) has been wrecked in the back, not the front. I also replace wheel bearings. Balljoints I'll replace if they are either bad or *really* easy to move around.
As to being able to tell if the thing is tweaked...I dunno. I put the thing on the car and if the balljoints all line up and the alignment isn't totally screwed up, I "assume" the part is okay. AFAIK, not much else you can do.

Great point here...
I replaced a knuckle on my racecar and did a full visual inspection of the knuckle, replaced the wheel bearing and lower ball joint.....only to find out that I had this "wierd" camber issue when it was installed on the car.
After lots of measuring and going from one side of the car to the other, trying to firgure out why the hell my right front had 0 degrees camber and the left front had 2.5 degrees, I finally narrowed it down to the "replacement knuckle" which in my mind "could definatly not be the issue because I had done a complete visual inspection of the part prior to installations."
Moral of the story is: Make sure it is a knuckle off a vehicle that has not been in a front end wreck because it is sometimes hard to tell if the knuckle is bent, even upon a complete visual inspection.

Actually...
I hit a curb 6 months ago and replace a bent LCA, and had the knuckle straightened on a press. Today I just got the car back from the body shop for some frame repair. Turned out part of my frame shifted about 1/2." However, after driving it, the car feels perfectly fine, and I probably haven't gained a lot negative camber on that wheel since the knuckle was not "over corrected" by too much 6 months ago. I can tell this by eyeballing the wheel
On top of that I'll be installing my camber adjustable UCAs tomorrow, so even if the "bad" side has -0.5* more camber than the right, the UCAs can take care of it...
So, in short I think I'll just stick with my ghetto corrected knuckle, especially seeing how I just put a brand new LBJ in it...
