car will crank..progressively getting weaker though wont start.
alright..i've been having tps problems since i got my motor. havent gotten around to putting it in. no time. last night/today i've been trying to start my car. it cranks but thats it..this is normal it usually does this and i have to wait anywhere between 20 seconds an an hour for it to finally start. but there is no start. just crank, and every time i go to start it, it sounds weaker and weaker. i just went out there and it got so weak to the point where it hardly cranks at all. all the lights are insanely dim and its like it JUST has enough power to crank. I can only think of two things, alternator or battery. yes i know i should get around to doing the tps but between school and work i havent had the time to take off the throttle body and seeing as i've never done it before, i figure i'll need a little extra time.

also your original problem may lye in your distributor.

i've got a zc swap, so shouldnt the distributor be fairly new? bump for more answers, i have work in a half hour and i need my car
most dizzys that come with ZC swaps are used and have been sitting in a warehouse for who knows how long. Remove the cap and rotor assembly to see if there is any powder like substance or discoloring. Also check to make sure you have fuel pressure.
i have no idea where the cap and rotor are nor how to check them..i searched and found kaputski, so if you or anyone can help me out. i've seen people say "check your cap and rotor" in so many posts but no one ever explains how to do it.

cap is the plastic part of your dizzy where the plug wires are pluged in. once you remove that you will see the rotor.

i had that same problem when i intalled my swap. i thought it was the battery i bought a new one. i thought it was the alternator. it still kept on doing it. so i took it to a shop and this hole time it was the ignition switch. SO in my exprerience i think buy those two parts if its not both of them then u know its your ignition switch not the hole thing though just the wiring.

thats your IAC. located on the back of your intake manifold. your car will also do that if you are low on coolant.
