okay ive had the car for about 5 months and always had this problem....i boggs out....it like hopps when i shift in 1st.....then usually in any other car you can go into 4-5 while goin like 30-40....i cant my car dies...its like choking itself......there is a loud *** knocking from my motor...and also i smell oil...im thinkin its my valve cover gasket cuz i took it off and never used liquid gasket...but still my car is bogging...then when u listen to the exhaust it sounds like its missing a beat when u drive....if you can understand that....any suggestions? i really want to fix this cuz its pissin me off thanks!!

 

well, not all four cylinders are firing. start by checking with spark, then fuel and so on.

 

i have spark...and i have fuel.....hm....any other comments? oh yea i did a compression test...and in cylinder 2 i have 30 lbs...would that be cause by bad valve seals? please feel free to comment

 

in the #2 cylinder, take out the plug wire while its running, and see how much it hestitates. Is it possible that you somehow managed to get the piston to knock the Valve?... it might be the the valve + seal. Its most likely not your Valve cover gasket, that wouldn't cause your problems. MOst of the time the valve cover gasket seals correctly if the surface is clean w/out extra sealant, unless the gasket has ridges from wear.

 

maybe you have the spark plugs wires in the wrong order? Just an guess.

how does your headgasket look? you need to tear it down, at least pull the head. whatever's wrong with it won't be fixed externally.

 

yes it offically sucks...i have 0lbs of compression in cylinder 2

 

drain the oil and cut the filter open with a sharp chisel. check for chunks of metal. you have either broken rings, bad headgasket or bent/burnt valve.

whats the compression in the other cylinders? if its smoking white or the radiator hoses feel like they have tons of pressure and the engine runs better with the radiator cap off, its a leaking headgasket.

 

i have 180 in the rest of my cylinders... this is pissin me off
