is it true that big piping form the cat back, like say almost 3 inches wide, is not right for a stock single cam motor or wut? and are apex'i mufflers all shitty?

You need to have some amount of backpressure. Most of the time 2.25 is a perfect size.

But remember a exaust wont do much without a header, so invest you money wisely.
