Default VCM on the 05 Accord V6 Hybrid

Wow, I am reading the brochure for the Accord Hybrid and it mentions Honda's new technology, VCM (Variable Cylinder Management). Basically, the car runs on 3 cylinders at cruising and 6 when accelerating. It says that it keeps the valves closed and keeps the injectors from injecting. I think that's awesome.

Does the cam shift over like VTEC but there's no lobe for 3 of the 6 cylinders?
