you can put anything in anything else, really. all comes down to what you want to spend and how stupid you feel like being.

case(s) in point; i've seen a Lotus Seven with a 6.0 liter Jaguar V12, a CRX with a Chevy small-block, a Civic with a C27 (1st gen Legend), and a VW Super Beetle with a big block Chevy hanging out the back.

if you are a newbie and less wealthy than Croesus, stick with the simple stuff; ZC, B16, B18. otherwise, find a shop that is happy to take your money and go nuts.

as for years, people are putting brand new Honda motors in CRXs.

jhota,

Thanks for the info. Greatly appreciated. I would like to put the newest/fastest engine that would fit with minimal modes in a 91 CRX.

88DXCRX,

I am in the market for a 91 CRX Si. I have been trolling ebay looking for a decent deal on a well kept rex, but still haven't been successful. Theres a place on my side of town http://www.payntechnologies.com that supposedly does great work with cars like these.

I use to own a 84 DX about 10 years ago and I have always regret selling it. <sniff>

Thanks for any info anyone is willing to share.

what do you call "minimal mods"?

the car was designed to take a B-series; that's really simple, very new engines are available. heck, you can buy a brand-new crate motor if you want.

if you want the absolute newest, most power, yadda yadda yadda, wait for the HASport mount kit for the K-series to be available and put a K20 in it. it'll cost you out the *** for the motor, though. and it will definitely require more modification of the car than a B.

What I meant by minimal mod...is that I want my REX to look stock. I don't want anyone to know that there is something special under the hood.

How much are we talking about roughly for the k20?
