accord pwr door locks
hey whats up guys, my friend jjust picked up a 95 accord EXR coupe (stock) in really good condition (but high k's) the car is mint but he's experiencing a problem with his door locks this is how he explained it to me :
I got this problem when I goto lock my door, it is in the "LOCK" position, however it continues to try and lock the door. You can hear the mechanism go on. It tries as many times as it wants too....... sometimes into the TEENs before it stops. Sometimes just once will do it.
i have very little idea to how to solve stupid electical problems like this hav any of you experienced this kind of ****?
id like to take it apart and figure out if its a mechanical problemo or an electrical one.... thanks!

try lifting up the door handles when you lock the door...if you dont...it will make that awful noise that sounds like they are grinding. or you can get an alarm with keyless entry...thats what i have on my accord...and it does do that at all.
Thanks nick for posting the msg for me.
Alright... it seems as tho i wasnt clear enuff.
I will now type out the entire process... to which nick thinks its an electrical problem. I am not a "car-guy", so i'll explain in clear detail. Please dun think im condescending.
Example 1.
I am using keyless entry to lock my door (im on the outside). But once i do... it continues to lock like crazy sometimes - as i have mentioned it can try locking itself upto 10+ times. When i peak inside, i see the lock in the "LOCK" position - and it is still trying to lock itself.
Example 2.
I am inside the car. I go and flip the flap to the lock position (95 coupe... its a flap right by the handle), and it occurs again. (upto 10+ times).
In both cases you can hear the mechanism trying to lock itself... however its already inthe lock position
I hope this is clear enuff for you guys :S
Also... to Optikal Fade: Dood. the lock wont lock if u dont lift the handle
..... mine does lock. so im not sure where u were going with ur post
Numbinside: yo bro... sit inside the car and lock it? and PLEA SEtell me if u get the problem too.

Most likely, it's the locking mechanism/switch... there should be a sensor inside which tells the locking brain that it's locked, when it doesn't the locking brain tries to repeatly lock the switch, and doesn't know when it's actually locked
Anyhoo. TOM and ACCIDENT.... do u guys both oil spray your car? my dad said that he knows a mechanic and HE said that it was liekly due to the oil spray.... LMK if u do!!!!

my accord will never actually lock itself, it will do that thing where it trys to lock (only it never quits tell i make it) the lock flap itself keeps going and going, its like somethings stopping it, id check it but my cars still in the shop getting the front end replaced thanks to the kind bitch that decided my car would look better without a fender andbumper
