Default comptech icebox w/ itr arm in 99 Si

I've got a question for you guys with this setup, I tried to use the itr arm over the k&n filter for comptech icebox, and there's no way in hell I can get it on with the spring clamp around the itr arm, I had to take it off and then squeeze the arm over the filter so I'm now running without this spring clamp, how do you guy get this on or what do you use to clamp the arm to the filter

Also, I have a hole drilled for the IAT sensor which is pretty snug to fit, but the sensor sort of dangles out, what have you guys used to affix the sensor?

Thanks,
sil

i guess I could go and find a big *** hose clamp, but just curious if or how you guys actually got that spring 'clamp' on?

you should match the IAT close to where you want to drill. I have this setup. and its working well without problems. Before, I had to take the filter out of the arm, and clean it. I had to use a second hand to help me place it. I was once frustrated, and used 2 pair of needle nose pliers, and unclamped the spring. Started inserting the filter, then went around with the spring, clamping it without problems. Its tight but it works great. Another tip. On your box and K&N combo, where the lips of the box meet the body of the filter, theres usually a big *** leak. I used a hose, cut it lengthwise, then put it around the lips. This makes the box more quieter, and you have a sealed system. Hope that helps, good luck

thanks for your help.. I bought a used setup from a user and the hole was pre-drilled, the IAT is in there pretty snug.
I've tried using the spring clamp but just couldn't get it to stretch enough even with 2 pliers, it almost got to the point where the 2 hooks looked like they would just stretch and unhook, I think I'll just go the route of the hose clamp since I have to pick up a missing bolt from home depot anyways, any suggestions on a gasket or some type of sealant for the IAT sensor?
