tranny not shifting?
95 Accord LX - 172K miles, auto transmission
this has only happened to me twice, but it's scaring the **** out of me.
First off I flushed the tranny about 30K ago...but this wasn't happening before I flushed and never did during the last 30K miles either, just happened twice in the last month or so.
When I get up to around 60MPH and 4K RPM's, its' like the car starts jerking. almost like i'm slamming on the gas pedal then letting go of it really fast over and over. the RPM's hover back from about 3800 to 4200 back and forth back and forth every second for about 20 seconds, then it kicks it into gear and it drops back down to just under 3K rpms. I really hope the tranny isn't on the fritz.

It sounds like your tranny is starting to slip. Mine started doing the same thing @ 222,000 miles. I though all I needed was to put in some fresh tranny fluid since it had been a while. After I serviced the tranny it got worse. It turns out that all the slug build up was actually preventing my tranny from slipping. So when I put in new fluid it loosened up and removed some the slug causing my tranny to slip even more than before. I ended up having to put in a low miles tranny. It set me back a little over $800. Hopefully thats not your problem. Good luck
change your fluid again and use this:

I've heard that it works pretty well on a friends car.
that stuff is more of a temp fix then anything else but it should make the tranny last a good bit longer
