hi, need some help...
i've began an argument on another forum and i'm unsure of the accuracy of the facts i'm using. I had just made a reply when i thought "where could i get some help on the matter?" a quick google search later and here i am.

that's the forum thread. anyone want to help me out with the facts and set me straight on everything? Sad

Seriously, don't you have something better to do like your Geometry homework than posting on a forum called leghumpers.com filled with underage fools who know nothing about cars?

LOL! gran turismo 3 isn't THAT bad. it is quite informative.
and if EGlovr is wrong please correct him. i'm taking in what is said here because i'm under the impression that since people here are more "mature" that they might know just a bit more.
but reguardless if the acura and honda nsx are diffrent due to emissions or marketing it's still diffrent. as tiny as the diffrences are they still seem significant. two drivers who drive a track perfecetly, one with the acura nsx and one with the honda nsx aren't going to finish at the same time. one is going to be the winner due to those tiny diffrences.
originally that wasn't even how it began. i said i didn't like the acura nsx. i feel it cost way too much for what you get. someone came out with the engine type argument. i said my opinion on it has nothing to do with the engine at all. i brought out the viper and said it's cheaper and faster. someone said the NSX handles better. and actually, i have to agree. yet i'm sure for the $10,000 cheaper the viper is some mighty fine tires could improve the handling of the car. or some other upgrade that isn't so temp as tires.
but reguardless of that i just wanted to know if the stats (last post) were correct or not.
ALSO! i noticed the acura nsx has a L6 DOHC engine type. what kind of engine is that? and when i ask i mean some details that a car noob wouldn't find to hard to comprehend. thanks in advance for your time.

ummmm...why do you keep insisting i have homework for? i've haven't been in school for years. and i don't like accords. keep in mind just because i came and asked a question here doesn't mean i care to have anything to do with hondas. i have an '84 Cutlas Supreme. And I'll soon be owning a Caddy. so from that i'm sure you can draw some kind of conclusion on what type of cars i'm into.

Is this a joke?
Provided you are comparing the same year and trim, the differences between a Honda NSX and Acura NSX are so negligible, they are not even worth mentioning.
Stick with what you know: Guitars, not cars.
BTW: Deftones suck.

There is a video on here somewhere about the making of the NSX. What i got out of it is, Honda wanted a more reliable mid v6 engine that could keep up with exotic sports cars as far as handling. They have a video where a nsx-r and a couple of other cars such as lamborghini's are track racing, the nsx-r takes the lead in all of the turns except for straightaways.
Honda built a plant in Japan somewhere just for the making of the NSX, with 200 skilled workers with around 10 years expierence on hand each.
with a 290hp v6 vtec it has been known to outrun skylines and other cars similiar in speed.
Im not biased or anything but i think its a great car.

Musically, i'll be the first to say they are horrible. the riffs are so pathetic with a harmonic bass line to follow. Vocals are sometimes sketchy and the live show can get be very tragic. however i enjoy them greatly. they, along with a few others began a new breed of music and showed be that there's a certain beauty in simplicity.

i got it from here! LOL.
i tried to authenticate it before i posted it on the other forum but i couldn't find anything. i figured there was two out-comes that could come from this...
A: Nobody will even think to look into it and let em get away with a possibly inaccurate fact.
B: someone will come up and tell me i'm retarded and tell me what's true and whatnot.
which is a win win for me either way. with A, the argument is closed. with B, i learn something new.

An L6? You mean V-6. As for the differences between the "Honda" NSX and the "Acura" NSX, they are very very minute. Both are 3.2L V-6 and both were created by the same factory in Japan. The only difference between the two is that the US spec revs 200 RPM's lower and actually has about 14 HP more than the JDM/UKDM model. (I'm using the 2004 model for comparisons)
The JDM/UKDM "Honda" NSX has 280ps [206kw] @ 7300 RPM, which roughly comes out to about 276 HP when you do the conversion. The only other difference that i see basically comes down to paint and some interior options. (they have a special lime green color available, similar to the Lamborghini green) But everything else is the same, tires/wheels, interior, etc. So basically they're the same car except one is branded "Acura". So your argument about the JDM NSX beating the US spec on the track due to parts differences isn't accurate.
Oh and yes the Viper is cheaper and has more HP than the "Acura" NSX, but stock to stock, the NSX will out perform the Viper on most tracks.
EDIT: I just checked the price difference between the 2004 Viper (MSRP $85,295) and the 2004 Acura NSX (MSRP $89,000) and it comes out to a whopping $3705, so i don't know where you got $10g's from.

my source for the 10G price diffrence was the Acura website. i did a comparrison between the two cars. someone should tell Acura? LOL.
and about the V6 i'm assuming my specs for that must have been an older model or something. still curious what an L6 is though.
thanks for the details and sources. it helps.

No problem dude. As for the L-6 though, they've always had a V-6 configuration. The older models were a 3.0L i believe.

btw you were comparing the specs of the 3.2L NSX from 97+ with the specs on the pre-97 3.0L Type-R, that's why the engine specs are different
you're hilarious...
