d series tranny clutch interchangibility
I went to purchase a clutch kit for my 89 Si Hatch and they show a listing for the 89 by itself . Im gonna be using a CRX si tranny instead of my Civic tranny. Are all the clutches interchangeable from 88-91>? Or is the 89 really different. Need to know ASAP...
if the CRX transmission is not from 88, you need 89 clutch - if it is 88, you need 88 clutch - 88 and 89 Si used 200mm clutch - 90-91 used 212mm clutch - 88 has different spline count from 89-91 - 90-91 clutch will not bolt to 88-89 flywheel

everything else is true except the flywheel...
88 tranny smaller PP smaller flywheel diffrent spline count from 89-91.
89 tranny same PP same flywheel as 88 but same spline count as 90-91.
90-91 bigger PP bigger flywheel same spline count as 89.
so for an 88 you need 88 disk 88 or 89 pp and flywheel or you can upgrade to the 90-91 bigger pp and flywheel but you need the lude disk as posted above.
*89 you need 89 disk, 88 or 89 pp and flywheel or you can upgrade to 90-91 disk and pp and flywheel.
90-91 you use 90-91 disk pp and flywheel or if your in a bind you can use the 89 disk pp and flywheel.
(note: some people have upgraded there disk, pp , and flywheel to the 92-95 civics the flywheel is 2-4 lbs lighter than 89-91 flywheels)
88 is a 21 spline
89+ is a 20 spline
84-87 Prelude 2.0 liter disc is 21 spline, 212mm
