Default exhaust gains?

In NA applications, does it really matter as far as power goes which exhaust you choose? Or is exhaust mainly a sound and appearance preference? I imagine that the differences between exhausts would be fairly minimal, but I can't seem to find any comparisons when I search. Also do exhausts help on some cars more than others? I have a GSR btw..

in any situation having a good exhaust is always critical to maximum performance, get a custom exhaust ..........in turbo situations, exhaust is critical for street performance, i'm talking an extra pound or two of boost with a 3 inch exhaust, that's definitely a gain with that big of an exhaust.........

Most exhausts perform 1-2hp? Thats too low IMO. Maybe like 3-5 hp but maybe more depending on what mods you have on your car.

How important is the downpipe in a turbo integra? I'm putting on a 3" carsound cat and 3" thermal exhaust, but the downpipe that comes with my f-max kit is only 2". I've heard mixed things about having a 3" downpipe - some say a 2" downpipe won't hurt, some say it will. Any thoughts on this?

Interesting chart, but I'm preeeeetty sure you won't gain ~22 hp from an exhaust, except maybe on a turbo car.
I wish someone would do an exhaust test, even though I imagine they'd be pretty close (but then I think that's what a lot of people said about the headers..).

The new Skunk exhaust is really nice, and it sounds great!

I meant 1-2 whp from each other. Yes, exhasut nets 3-4 whp over stock. My $600 Comptech made 4 whp. You can accoplyish the same results by removing the PS belt and adv timing and they are both FREE.
