Hi, I bought a 90 Crx about 2 weeks ago. It haven't pass smog when i bought it. I bought a new exhaust system and they installed it without a CAT CONVERTER. If i was to have it pass smog. . . Will a Ebay CAT CONVERTER WORK welded onto my Exhaust system make it pass smog? OR Do i gotta go get some stock **** that cost over 140 at kragen or auto zone and weld that on instead?

Ebay CAT Con - 30-60 dollars
Kragen/Autozone CAT Con - 100 - 140 dollars.

i would go with autozone, cuz something tells me that a 30-60 cat just doesnt sound right

 

as long as the cat isnt gutted.. it should be fine dont quote me on that though. check your 02 sensors as well.

 

If you buy the chrome "high flow cat" from ebay, you'll get what I got: a resonator. Get something you know is right.

btw, what kind of apes installed an exhaust without a cat? Did you tell them you had hopes of driving this thing legally? wtf is with that?

And I've passed my car without a cat before, just takes tweaking.
