Well, it's inspection time for Number Nine, which meant heading on out to the QuickSpect to get signed off for another year. Decided to take my chances and get it tested as-is (Yack-tuned Spec B's). Almost made it

HC at idle was 331 ppm - the state limit for NC is 220 ppm. Ah well.

Also kept jumping above the idle limits. NC wants your car to idle between 350 and 1100 rpm. My car will jump above 1100 when the fan cuts on. Kept failing that, which means they start the test cycle over again.

So... Do I just try to lean the F out of it, or get Will to set the cam gears back to zero? Decisions, decisions...

 

You have a '00 and you need to get it emissioned?

Are you running a cat?

I happen to live in one of the dozen or so counties in NC that require annual emissions testing I can't even title it at my parent's pad up in Winston-Salem, because their county requires it too

Yep, still have a cat, but that's not the problem. Tuned Spec B's are my, er, "problem"

yep...i remember all too well

 

well, actually they just got rid of it AGAIN last year...they had some 3 year trial or something...when I moved here 2 years ago, there WAS emissions...

 

what?! in my 9 years of driving i never was never aware of a Florida inspection...

 

yup, don't know the exact circumstances, but had something to do w/ a test to see if their inspection had helped w/ pollution...it didn't so they got rid of inspection

 

Crap this thread just reminded me that my 60 days for my Rejected sticker are just about up
