i am new to swaping engines...i need a few ideas.i want a swap on my 96 4door civic that will allow me smoke 5.0's or at least keep up. i dont want to make too many mods. i was thinking a 99-2000 si engine(b16dohc) w/type r intake manifold,type r camshafts, intake,header, and exhuast....or should i get a b18 gsr...i was told an h22 is the best for power on a 4 door but it also can give me problems with the weight of it...will it scrape? and can i get it w/power steering and ac anywere.....give me some advise...and were i can look up info....thanks

 

Since you do not want to modify the motor much....I'd say h22 is the best. Especially since ur car is heavy (that is, compared to hatches (esp. 92-95s)...the h22s torque will help out. The motor does sit a bit lower....but just don't slam ur car.

the funny thing is 96+ 4 doors are lighter than the h/b cause they don't have all the saftey stuff.

if you go with the h22, you wont be able to keep power steering or ac
