Disassemble sunroof
Has anyone taken apart a crx sunroof? I don't just mean the rubber molding and all the little metal things, but separated the brace from the top of the sunroof. I dont know how to explain it exactly.

just take the whole thing apart I did 2 of them its a pain in the *** you have to drop all the panels and pieces attaced to roof headliner mirror etc... after that its cake if you just wanna take the roof off the instructions he gave above would do it and make sure you dont crack or break any of those stoppers.

I know what you mean rex vt, I had to replace everything on my sunroof when i had it painted, the 300 dollar panel, the 50 seal, all the seal retaining hardware etc. The paint shop wanted 300 to install the new one????? I said what the hell, the old one is out, the interior is apart. Anyways, i brought the car home and installed the roof myself. Just the 5 mile trip home was nuts.....
The air came in the roof opening and hit the hatch and made the rear window flex and sounded like killer bass. It is freaking loud

Some assknocker tried to break into my EF through the Glass sunroof... I guess he didn't know what he was getting into. Bent the sunroof, broke the glass in it, and dented my roofline. What an *******. Then they decided to jsut put a brick through the window to get in.... HELLO, do that first, ********!
I ended up getting a COMPLETE sunroof motor, frame, glass and all for $250 at the junkyard... glass tint is in better shape, gray roof liner is in better shape... I'm happy... took 3 hours to swap it all out. PLUS, just the savings on the sunroof paid my $500 deductable. Honda wanted $400 just to install it, not to mention their $500 pricetag on the Si's Glass roof...

Hehe the mechanic is probs pissed at me right now, I left the sparkplug wrench in my car, he's about 7 feet tall
Ok, here's the pic, hopefully it comes out. http://www.imagestation.com/mypictur...20of%20sunroof
This is the back of the sunroof, with everything taken off of it. As you can see there's a brace, the sunroof is just 2 sheets of metal, one piece is the brace, and the other is the top of the sunroof, and I don't think it's welded together. If anyone has separated the brace part from the top piece with little or no damage please tell me how. Whew

Well, I finally took the sunroof apart, and DAMN there was A LOT of rust on that thing. To anyone with a crx si, do you have any problems with rust on your sunroof?
