Default raising 87 Accord

I see considerable instruction and aftermarket product
to lower an Accord. But, I'd like to raise one for more clearance.
Any endeavors/solutions in this direction?

You don't really see people wanting to raise a regular car, let alone a FWD one. As far as I know, no company has made any type of spring/strut or coilover setup to accomodate you.

However, you may want to look into an air bag setup. Or perhaps even hydraulics?

Thank you pyrojeff.
Yes, I notice that there's not much available to raise a regular car.
I like the Honda and especially it's FWD. Relatively good for inclement weather.
But I drive rather rough roads and could use some more clearance.

I looked at air bags but didn't see assurance of higher ride.
What can you say about hydraulics?

Thanks

me and my friends did a lot of racing on dirt roads with our "fun" cars, anyway we found it was easyest to just get wheels that were a bigger, and therefore accomidated bigger tires (im not talking about rims) but look around at some cars you see on the street, then go to a salvage yard and get the wheels of the model youve decided on. they should fit fine aslong as you dont go to bad and youll get slightly better clearance other then that i dont know that theres much you can do

Yeah, a higher profile tire could work, but the added mass will make the car slower and the added circumference will throw off the spedometer.

I guess it's probably best just to let well enough alone.
But, "Se7ens Travels" I'm confused over the difference between wheels and rims?

I also have a question about front and rear suspension that you guys may be
able to answer, but I'll post it under a new topic.

Thanks for your help,
Cliff

About raising the car...keep in mind the halfshafts ( drive axles) were designed to operate at a certain angle/degree of motion. I would imagine if these were bent more aka raised vehicle, it would put alot more stress/strain on them. A friend of mine had a civic with hydraulics and when he raised the front up all the way his car would make a terrible noise from the axles trying to lock up.

sorry i made that kind of confusing, i was basically just saying like normal car wheels with normal tires, not wheels with low profile tires because that would defeat the purpose, sorry about that
