Best street drag tire

What is the best tire for 17in x7 wheels for launching? and just general good performance?

Personally I wouldnt even race with the 17's, they are too heavy. Step down to a 15 inch wheel/tire combo and try the BFG drag radials in 205/50/15. I've heard they are one of the best dr's out there.

this may be a silly question but i just need a quick answer, how wide does the rim have to be in order to accomodate a 205/50 profile tire. thanks
