I'm looking to purcahse a rear underbody lip spoiler (the thin, subtle kind) for my '97 EX. Will the 99-00 Civic version fit? I know that the front end is completely different, but the rear bumpers look identical.. Can anyone confirm?

It will not fit. 96-98 rear bumpers are different then the 99-00 on 4-doors and coupes. The 99-00 bumper has the bottom lip that flares out while the old one is recessed in. The bumpers are interchangeable but a 99-00 underbody lip for the bumper will not fit 96-98's.

 

Thanks - I confirmed this with a 2000 Civic bumper. Oh well, maybe I'll just get a flush mounted trunk spoiler instead.......
