Default 94 Accord - Speedometer stuck sometimes

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has run into this problem before:

Right now, sometimes, when I start up my car, the speedometer jumps up to 40km/hr , and stays there, no matter how fast I'm going. It kind of "shakes", but not much else.

I can sometimes fix the problem by turning the car off and on again, sometimes not. And sometimes, the problem fixes itself on it's own.

Do I just need a new speedo cable? How hard is one to replace, if that is the issue?

Thanks!

Macdian
