Default CR-V Rear Disc Brake Conversion

Does anyone know what it requires to do a rear disc brake conversion on a CR-V? I found this article on a done up CR-V in the UK and they claim they did it with factory Honda parts. I don't think Type R stuff with work here because when they did the rear disc brake conversion on the CR-V trailing arm on the AWD Integra in Honda Tuning they had to custom make a bracket to bolt the caliper to it. Maybe they made a CR-V with rear discs in the UK? If so, then a set of those trailing arms is what I need. If anybody has any insight, let me know.

Try http://www.hondasuv.com (I think their forum might be down now, though)

I checked that website, they don't have anything on there about it, I might make a post there and see if anybody knows anything. I have a hunch that the disc brakes on the new CR-Vs might be a direct bolt up to the old CR-Vs if you use the new CR-V trailing arms. I think that because the rear differential hasn't ever changed on the CR-V. Not that that's a strong correlation, but still.

Do you want to change to rear discs for a reason or just because you see a challenge and want to do it?? I'm Just curious as I see no performance gain from doing the conversion. The only advantage I see is to make it easier to swap pads, but how often are you doing that on an SUV.

I've got an ITR that I really want to do an AWD conversion on. I saw in the Honda-Tuning article that they had to custom make a bracket for the rear control arms and so it would accept the splined CR-V hub. However they had to butcher it so it would work with the disc instead of the drum. I'm wondering if anyone had successfully found a stock rear disc that would fit properly over the CR-V hub without as much custom fabrication.

I'm thinking that if I were to use the new CR-V hubs that are made for rear discs in conjunction with the new CR-V discs then I should be good to go without as much fabrication.
