Default Cooling Plate Question

I decided to get one of the cooling plates for my S2k. 'Cept, I've noticed I'm having a problem since having it installed. I have a hard time getting the hood to shut. Before, I could just "drop" the hood from about 6 inches up and it would latch. Now I have to push it to get it to latch.

Anyone else have this trouble with theirs? Or is it just install err?

Did you remove the long flat black metal piece where the hood meets the bumper?

It could be an install problem. But you can also adjust the bumpstops and the hood bracket.

You can easily just loosen the hood bracket and raise it up a little. This may help.

The piece that had the weather stripping on it? No, I didn't remove that.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks.

What kind of effect does that have on dirt getting into the engine bay? Does it make it bad?

I haven't had a problem yet, it's been two months. I think I put the weather striping on my cooling plate. Try doing that first, if it does not close right you can play with the hood stops (turn them).

It's supposed to keep more air flowing through the radiator to help keep it cooler.

This is why I got it. I just thought it made the engine bay look a little nicer.

As an update, I adjusted the hood stops, that didn't work. I made sure all the screws were tightened down, and what I did with the cooling plate was put it underneath that black metal piece with the weather strip.

I think I'm gonna just take off the weather strip tonight.

You might need to replace your hood!

Take out the metal piece. You don't need it with the cooling plate.

ditto, keep the black rubber weatherstrip, ditch the black metal piece. You might need to adjust the hood latch up if you haven't yet.

Sorry for missing your question. I didn't personally make it, so I can't advise on that. However, if you search under the username turbo94awd on eBay, he has 'em.
