im not sure what size slicks im going to run... my set up is basically a 92 vx b18c1 with type r flywheel and 6puck clutch and preasure plate? would i or should i upgrade to better axels if i lauch around 5500rpm

 

Your stock axles will be fine for as all motor set-up. Stock axles are rated up to 300hp(not sure hoe accurate that is though). But at any rate more than enough for your set-up. On the slicks try 22x8x13. Good luck....

 

Whether you should upgrade your axles is really driver dependant. As most people who break axles break them because of driving style. You could run your stock axles and be fine. But just to be safe I would either have an extra set of stockers on hand or get some upgraded ones and keep your stock ones on the side incase anything breaks. Either way I would keep 2 sets with me so you dont have to tow the car home if anything happens.

But with the minimal mods that you have done unless you are really hard on your tranny when launching I dont see the stock axles breaking.

You could use 24.5 X 8 slicks if you preload the clutch.

 

what do you mean preload ?
