lip clearance problem
hey i was just wondering have any of you ever tried putting a thin piece of sheet metal on the bottom of your carbon or abs lips..the only reason i ask is cause i'm scraping the hell out of my carbon lip and i raised the **** out of it...but the hight looks really nasty..looks like i'm 4x4 and ****, so i was thinking about putting a thin piece of sheet metal on the parts that hit the most and dropping it back down...it's a ej coupe by the way...so wat do u think?

btw, how do u plan to fit the sheet metal under the cf lip? </TD></TR></TABLE>
just going to use some sheet metal snips and just cut a strip for the parts that hit the most...wish me luck

The only problem is, when you scrape hard, instead of a small portion of the lip cracking or giving way, with a metal plate underneath, the entire lip will push upward, against the bumper, which in turn will push up into the hood headlights corners (if it's a scrape on either side), causing possibly worse damage.
Maybe if you could cut the metal into 3 sections, one for each side, and one in the middle, with a .5-1in gap in between each plate to allow room for it to give.
