It just sits tilted right up! And yes, when i close the hood, it hits. Am I missing a rubber connector? TIA

 

It's been a long time since I had my stock y7 airbox assembly, but I think the top of it is supossed to sit flat. Not all tilted like that.

 

just rotate the lower section of the box.

 

Rotate it? I think it's part of the box?

 

If you unlatch the latches the top comes off, all you have to do is turn the bottom around and it will give it the correct angle.

Yes it is a part of the box...

Just loosen thos 4 clips, pull the upper cover up... then ROTATE THE HOLE DAMN LOWER PART 180 degrees...

Then your cover won't be so funky looking... and you will actually FILTER the air before going into the intake...

If you drive this way, for christ sake, even a CAT or a DOG can sneak into the intake... that's how much it is open... you will clog your injectors or even damage the whole engine... if you haven't already

In my defense, I bought the used intake "pre-assembled" incorrectly. I just assumed I was missing a rubber connector *shrugs*

BTW, I didn't put it on till after RACEPAK's enlightening post sO no damage was done.

 

haha oops thats my bad.. cuz you asked me a while ago if the filter was clean.. i remember opening it up completely to check it and i guess i wasn't paying attention when i put it back.
