H22a in a 94 Accord????
The H22a is a 97-01 Lude engine correct. I should know this my brother has a 97 lude. Has any one done this swap. I am thinking of doing a hybrid to beat the insurance company. I was thinking of going this route, instead of a civic.
How hard would it be to mount, then how hard is it to wire. The Accord type R, has a similar set up doesn't it???? Does any one know the weight of a 2 door 94 Accord ex????
Thanks

Pretty fast w/H22 in it I have a friend w/a 94 Accord that has that motor in it and hauls a$$. In the 1/4 he runs consistent low 15's w/only intake, stock clutch, and a VAFC so I would go for it.
hey its not that hard ouf a swap all you need to do is buy the full motor ecu wireup 4 new lines for vtec get a drivers side prelude motor mount h22a throttle cable and p.s. cable if you want stock axles and throttle bracket.
97-up usdm are h22a4.
don't buy this set-up unless you ahve another good $500 to spend on top of that.
since you have an obd1 accord, you'll need to locate an obd1 ecu and distributor. the wiring isn't that tough. you'll be much better off getting an obd1 pacakge.
siref8, tell your friend to work on his driving. he could do much better with even those little mods. most h22a accords run in the mid to high 14's with just small bolt-ons.
i've run a best of 14.9@93mph with a horrid 2.3 60foot. all i had was an underhood intake and exhaust. stock clutch, full interior, no play intire pressure, fully obd2 legal 96 accord sedan. drove there and drove back.

H22 into a 94 Accord isn't hard at all.. The hardest part would be the wiring.. Pretty much a straight drop in.. Use the Prelude mounts, but you'll have to modify the driver side mount.. What I did was shave off about 1/4" on the driver side mount inorder for hte mount to drop right into the bracket.
Everything else bolts up. Depending if your motor is JDM or not, but if you use a JDM motor.. the distributor will have an internal coil where as the USDM counterparts use external coils... What you need to do is wire up the JDM dist. to use the internal coil.. One of the wires on the USDM coil harness has to be jumped inorder for the JDM coil to fire up.
Another thing you need to know if the downpipe don't bolt up. So what you'll need to do is get a muffler shop to cut weld the pipe back for you. Or if you have a welder.. you can do it yourself easily enough.
Other than that.. You should be able to hit low 15s and high 14s off the bat.

I have a h22a1 motor and tranny for sale with 70,000 miles, comes with all motor mount brackets, ecu, wiriing harness, axles. You will need to buy ignitor, rotor, distributor cap. You will also need injectors. $1800 obo
Like everyone said, it is pretty easy to do. It drops in. If you plan on staying OBD1, you will need to get an OBD1 Prelude Si distributor, and some injectors.
Well what I don't understand about this is... to pass inspection if you do a swap it has to be the same year or newer. Since I have a 96 could I get away w/ a H22 from an earlier model lude prior to 96? They seem to be about $1k less than the 96+ models, any reasons why? Is it b/c the ones before 96 are equipped w/ the OBDI as opposed to the OBDII? Would I be able to use my AT tranny from my Accord, or would I need the AT tranny from the Lude? Would I have to change gauges and all that as well? TIA
