Default Saturn going SFWD racing in 05?

http://ndra.nopi.com/ndra_2k4/...d=253

"We are currently developing packages for Saturn enthusiasts ranging from Sport FWD to brackets that incorporate many of our sponsor’s products. At this point we’re looking at a number of potential opportunities that would be a good fit for us but nothing definitive has been decided just yet. As our 2005 business plan develops, we’ll definitely be making some announcements.”

There was an announcement earlier in the year that they were building a sfwd car. But it was suppose to be out by now from when it was originally announced I think. Kinda makes sense to me for them and gm to want to build a car for that class since it is more of a correlation to the customer.

I have been hearing rumors of a GM supported Cobalt SFWD car as well. I would hate to see it because I was thinking about running in that class next year. After next week, we will know more about rules and who is going to be running what. I have held off rebuilding my car until after SEMA because of this...

I have one that is close to a Sport FWD and I have one that is a shell, so I have my option with how I want to go right now.

So is it a saturn backed car or just someone building a sfwd/t4 car? I have heard the ugly rumors about the gm sfwd car too. Just means everyone will have to step up their game. Us honda owners will need to find a tranny that will hold up, oh, and about 200 more hp.

I've heard LOTS of rumors about this for next year, that is Cobalt in SPFWD.
Agein this is TOTAL rumor and may be way off base.

Word is there is-was 4 Cobalts being built by Roush for SPFWD. Two to go to
currant Honda pilots, one goes to a chic for quick 16, not sure on number 4

GM, says these cars don't exist, the trans being the problem. They were all ready
to go with the 65 that's in Martys car, since that trans wouldn't be legel in SPFWD
they would have to go with the 45. That trans hasn't been sorted.

I've been hearing the Saturn rumor for a year now.

Interesting.
I'm going to do just like Boogie down said. Finish my car and race. No reason to be scared of them, I'll just hope they break something on the line.

I may not know it all but I cn tell you this, there should be 4 GM sponsored Cobalts coming into SportFWD next year. The Saturn SportFWD will be a Saturn Motorsports backed team. Just the facts.

Also, one of the GM cars went to a NOPI chick
