Default 92 civic VX with a 95 JDM b15d swap

I recently put a JDM b15d engine on my 92 civic VX, Im not using the p07 ECU that came with the old engine instead I'm using a p28 ECU but I have encountered with the check engine ligth. my question to you guys is if the car wiring is the problem? since it is wire for the p07 and not the p28, also this new engine does not have an egr sensor plug so I have left the sensor out hanging. any idea on how I can resolve this problem?

thanks.

Trash the EGR. You don't need it anymore, and the P28 doesn't look for it anyway. Your CEL is most likely caused by the differences in the wiring of the VX o2 sensor. You will need the proper 4 wire o2 sensor, and you will need to convert the VX wiring to support it.

that is probably what it is. O2 wiring is different on the vx and dx. 7 wire vss 4 wire. the p28 uses a 4 wire o2...

cool thanks I'll check for that, also whenever I plug the sensor to the idlecontrol module, the engine starts to rev up and down until it is hot. the Iddle control module is new. what could be causing this problem? and another thing the VTEC is not kicking in.
please help

thanks
