Before all that figure out what Rust issues you may have and address them, that undercoating our car has hides a lot of it so be vigilant. Por-15 that rust then start worrying about suspension

I started with an 88 as well. My biggest suspension suggestion is to go through and replace any bushing you can get your hands on. You'll be surprised how much difference it makes. A nice set of coilovers/dampers won't do **** for your 15 year old bushings. ES seems to have a big following on this board but I'm not in agreement with this. I think you'll be happy with OEM in most places, but there's a huge difference between fresh OEM and the old, crusty OEM bushings you have now. Pay special attention to the rear trailing arm bushings, the front radius rod bushings, and the motor mounts.

Also check over your dust boots, everywhere, and replace them as needed. Don't overlook your steering rack for bushings a boots, and check your tie rod ends and all ball joints. Finally, think about replacing wheel bearings before they go bad, unless you know that the ones you have are on the newer side.

If and when you lower it....don't worry about a camber kit for it cause the ones they make for the crx suck ***. I droped my crx and put KYB AGX 4 way adjustible dampeners all the way around...and a little later put energy suspension bushings. It made the car slide around the turns and be semi unpredictable when it was going to lose grip. It also made riding in the car almost rigourus because everything was soooo stiff. If I had it to do over again I would spend the extra 500 to 1000 dollars on the spring/dampener race package deals you can find. I would also suggest getting front and back strut bars they help a lot too
