Default h22a tranny question

i am seriously thinking about purchasing an h22a for my 94 accord. i was wondering if i need to buy just the engine, or the engine complete with a tranny? will the existing tranny on my stock engine fit the prelude engine or will i have to buy it complete with a new one. thanks.

All F22 trannies will bolt up to the H23 and H22 blocks. Remember, all of these use basically the same block.

why not just go with the complete H22A swap, i beleive the H22A tranny has better gear ratio than the F22.
Please give us a call, we could get you a H22A complete change over for a pretty decent price.
thank you

yes. The gearing is way too short for an F22 though.

I have the H22 tranny in my Accord and it is geared great until I hit 5th. WAY to steep for the F22. At 80 i'm hitting 4250 rpm! I drove the thing from St. Louis to Atlanta like that and it sucked! I will be pulling it out soon and replacing the 5th gear with the one from my Accord tranny. That should help out on the highway.

hmmm...I'm wondering. How much did the H22 transmission change the feel of the old F motor? Should've woken it up some, aside from the fact that it's pissed off on the highway. I mean, you're revving more than my 8000rpm redlined B16 on the highway at 80. That oughta tell yous something.

It made a HUGE difference in the car. Of course, I also did a Quaife, aluminum flywheel and clutch at the same time. But it revs quick through the gears now. Only bad thing, the tranny has a bad synchro so I am going to tear it out again and replace them all. That's when I'll put the Accord 5th gear in it.
