Why Single Exhaust?
I was wondering what the reasoning is behind switching to a single exhaust on a S2 is. Is that specifically for turbo or does it help out with all motor. I am planning to go all motor and am looking for a exhaust but I wanted to figure out which is best before I purchase anything. Thanks

While this is subjective, it is louder. Reason being, the exhaust gases are not channelled nor diverted very far off of their path. There's also only one muffler instead of two. So, you have the same amount of gases going out one muffler and one pipe instead of being Y'ed out into two, which diffuses the noise.

why dual? u have a header that runs into one primary, and then flow is restricted as the exhaust stream is cut in 2.
either run a 4-2 header and run pairs to the tail or one exhaust

the f20c only has one engine bank -> one exhaust manifold therefore a single is more suitable. duals are only for looks, no performance at all. dual's sold for this car are not true duals, they are y-pipes...meaing the piping it split from a single to dual after the catalytic convertor.
single = maximum performance and weight savings...looks are subjective but i love the look of a single.

single is definitely the way to go, with less weight( the original weight something like 25KG) a single exhaust should weight around half of that, The T1R cat-back for s2000 produces something like a 12 whp gains, i had that picture of the dyno chart somewhere, let me find it and post it up.
don't expect too many gains on a slightly modified s2000 even running a standalone tunable ecu. Exhausts for this car are most notable for their looks and sound as well as weight.

+8-12 hp is pretty damn good with a quality exhaust system(on a stock/semi-stock s2000).

I have a hard time finding a reason for dual exhaust ASIDE from looks.
The car does have two holes for exhausts on its rear bumper however,
so having a single does look a bit awkward sometimes(ok alot of times).

Yeah that's what i was thinking the whole time. I wouldnt be able to stand it...having a single on either side of your rear end...and then having an open sapce which is curve another pipe...
But that's just me i guess...you could always fiberglass it smoothe!
