Default Well I am obsessed with Volkswagens, But I have a Honda now

So I have a 94 Civic DX, I know nothing to brag about, before the civic I had two Mark II Jettas. Well they are gone and I wanted to try out a Honda. I must say these things are really reliable, and the torque isn't as bad as must dubbers let on. I will get pics up as soon as possible, you know the deal.

Future mods will include , coilovers, exhaust, NO BODYKIT... and now you give me some ideas... Thanks guys.

Will you sell those future mods separately?

love Dubs also.. wanted to get a 98 gti vr6.. but got a honda for a good deal .. so i said screw it. I must say that vr6's with intake and a neuspeed exhaust sounds the best. You hear the intake over the exhaust.. i love it

I'll be nice and not just say "do a search" (even though that's what I'm thinking)

Well, bolt-ons aren't going to give you much of anything in terms of power. You could do a mini'me, which is replacing the non-vtec head w/ a sohc vtec head (search "mini me" for various threads about this).

Suspension mods can go from mild to race. Impossible to go wrong w/ Ground Control coilover sleeves on Koni Yellow shocks. If you want/need oversteer, get a Comptech 22mm rear sway combo or a Suspension Techniques Speedtech rear sway/tie combo.

Basically, search "intake" "header" "exhaust" yada yada and you'll find the info you're looking for.

Dont spend any money till you get a swap. Then you will fall in love.... i have friends with 11 sec mustangs. 10 sec rx-7, 240's and i have a 13sec all motor hatch (12's on the baby shot of juice) they love driving my car. Fun factor is hard to beat on a swapped honda.. specially a hatch. Is your dx a hatch or coupe/4 door??

Ya, as far as fun to drive factor, you can't beat an EH2. It's like driving a big go kart

VW's are not as good as people think, the new ones anyways. my girlfriend bought a brand new 2002 jetta gls 1.8T. the thing boots, but the god damn thing is always in the shop. the cel comes on honestly about once a month, its rediculous. now it has 46K and it is falling apart, it rattles, squeaks and it is not impressing us. shes trading it in for an is300, or a TSX. im trying to convince her to ge the TSX *fingers crossed*. if i had to choose between honda or VW, id choose honda. sorry for the rant, i HATE out VW.

here is a thread to guide you on the whole engine decision... because you will definetely want to remove that DX's engine.

if i were you, i would not spend any money on that engine besides maintenance.

Yeah I am a Mark I and II VW lover myself, almost got a 95 VR6 GTi, but got the civic instead, I am a member of the Vortex so I know all about the search and that jazz, my Civic is a coupe, red and rockin some steelies. I want to move away from what people normally think about honda (oversized bodykits and wings with an exhaust that sounds like bodily funtions). Thanks for the tips and links, I really appreciate it. I was thinking about swapping for a VTech but I just recently moved out so I need to save up a bit first, we'll see what happens, thanks guys.

just kinda wondering, what did you have done to your mk2's?

it sounds like you have a good head about no big kits and overall, at least what you dont want for your car.

suspension is always a good start. kyb agx struts and ground control coilovers are a good setup for the money. as for swaps, you can do an integra ls(b18b1) swap for like less than 1500 total, and it will be nice and responsive for around town driving, and even nicer to turbo in the future(hint hint ). other swaps are b16( i think the b16a3 from an obd1 del sol should make swapping eaiser), or the d16z6 (obd1 single cam vtec)..id probably do a mini me over this full swap tho, but if you stay d series get the z6 or y8 tranny. gsr and type r swaps are usually assloads of money, perhaps more than an ls swap and turbo, so i dunno if its worth it in my opinion. thanks for listening to my stupid biased blabble, good luck to you

Okay, sorry sorry, VTEC, though VR6 sounds better .

On my dubs I did exterior mods, some engine work, nothing major. Thanks for the help!!! I think I am going to pull in my VW euro style for this car, just to prove to a lot of the stubborn VW guys that they can be made damn nice... For example I think I am going to put some ATS classics on her, 16" 4X100 cause I know VW rims fit on Hondas but not vica versa. Then I am going to paint her flat black and go pirate, haha wooooo
