Default 1997 D16Y8 O2 sensor

Hi, my first post,,,,

I need some help. I need an o2 sensor for my civic, its a 1997 si ( canada), D16Y8 engine. Im actually having a hard time trying to find an o2 sensor. i found one online, but they say it will only fit the 1997 D16y8 w/auto tranny, but doesnt say anything for 1996,

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33557

thats the link from ebay. Im wondering, why should it matter auto or stick? 1996-2000 SOHC vtec motors were the same weren't they?

Could someone please help me with this....

thanks
nisar

Your looking for the o2 sensor from your exhaust mani. right? Tranny shouldnt matter, the engine is the same. Someone slap me up if i'm wrong

BTW check classifieds when you can, you'll be able to find one in there for cheap

It should be covered under Honda's extended emmission warranty. Somebody might have the TSB number around here.

Not clear if we are talking front-exmanifold or rear by cat converter. Your link/ebay specs state Automatic only.....assume it is. Look for Denso or Bosch direct fit and stay away from generic and universal types you have to wire-splice in. The O2 parts market is huge....go search engine shopping...parts suppliers.
The correct fit front sensor - Denso which seem to be OEM type sensors go for about $120....I'm looking for one too.....the Bosch is twice as much....not sure why. Generally Bosch for Honda brake parts etc. are cheaper.
Anybody else know ?
