Default Air tube on catalytic converters

What are they for?? I'm looking into Catco or CarSound high flow converters...

I don't know if they are used on any Honda's, but they normally hooked up to the air pump to help the chemical reaction that occurs in the cat.

If you use one, as I did, just leave it capped off.

The Referee never said anything about it when I got my car certified.
