Crest can be fun--very, very fast sweepers, threading in and out of traffic, constant threat of head-on collisions with squids or new riders

Rock Store--tight, technical roads, great ocean views, celebrity cache, occasional Harley rider losing control and crashing into parked bikes, crazy customs

as soon as I can convince my wife, i'm gonna get back on and test out both roads again. it's been so long, i can't remember which one i prefer.

those pics of the 10/23/04 ride made me nostalgic...

 

there is no way the RS is a match for AC... different ball game, the RS is more like riding around to the store for some beer and chips, AC is like taking a long trip to a good restrant for some prime rib. That being said, AC has become saturated with squidlies and CHP's, thanks to the flooding on boards like this. LAst weekend was really nice, fairly clean and only time I saw the law was on the way out... there are other roads you know?

 

i like them both, but i enjoy the malibu canyons much more than ACH. There are so many more turns in the malibu canyons and i enjoy that you don't lose yourself and find yourself riding the whole thing in triple didgets. I hate that it is less fun at the speed limit at the crest. The cops are very harsh out there...we should not get pulled over for doing 5 over the speed limit when there are actually people going 80 miles over the limit.

the crest has upper big t and AFH. malibu roads are shorter, but there is latigo, stunt, piuma, and tons of other roads that are awesome. i can stay in malibu all day and it never gets old. I just don't like how people ride the crest like a track with guardrails(i've been guitly of this, and i have since backed off...way too many fatalities up there ).

 

thats for sure... the AC is fast! Even so, I feel MUCH safer up there in the clouds @ triple digits than I do down there in the traffic... but thats just me
