My girl was driving her car the other day and said it started smellin funny. So when I got off work I went to go take a look. When I popped the hood I smelled antifreeze. Smelled like it was burning or just smelled hot. I checked the radiator and it had water, added some to the resevoir. Couldn't find anything leaking. Took it for a spin so I could get the car nice and warm. It wasn't overheating actually stayed alittle below the half way point. But when I popped the hood again I was hearing like a hissing noise, sounded like you took a little bit of water and would drop it on the ex. manifold. This sound seemed like it was coming from the head and the ex. manifold. But still no smoke and no water in the oil. I don't know what the hell it could be. I told her not to drive it until I could look at it better Sat. and get some opinions from you guys. Sorry so damn long. Brian

Maybe you filled the resevoir past the max line. When you do that the excess spills out sometimes and gets on engine components

 

Could be numerous things.

-headgasket
-thermostat housing gasket
-radiator
-hoses

You could have a blown headgasket and there not be any coolant in your oil. My g/f had a Z24 and drove around for a year without it mixing together. It was just leaking oil.
