Default Cruise control w/quick release steering wheel/hub combo questions...

Its really beginning to get to me after a few months how "different" it is to get in and out of my Sparco seat, so i want to invest in a good quick release hub and steering wheel combo. my main concerns are my horn and cruise control, which i want to retain. i'm sure i'd be able to rig up some momentary switches, but i dont want to do any rigging if its unnecessary.

questions:
1. has anyone done a write up on this, or know if its even possible?
2. whats a good quick release hub under $250 that will fit a sparco wheel?
3. will there be any codes thrown on a OBDIIb system due to a SRS open circuit?

Well I can drop my two cents here. . .

1a. There is a write up on a installing your horn yes, and it is very, very good. Another H-T member (danee987) actually helped me out on what I was getting confused on and we shall see if the horn works today. I drew up a diagram if you are interested in seeing it, it really helped me by looking at the whole picture. I have a quick release too and was getting stuck on getting it rigged up.

2a. There are alot of quick release hubs out there, I went with a NRG cuz it doesnt have the release paddles but a tiny button. It seemed like the best one IMO. I got a good deal on a brand new one for 75 dollars. I think they list for about 125-130. I've seen them on the sponsers page too.

3a. I am not sure about the codes but you will def not have airbags (driver/passenger) anymore. The SRS light will glow a nice red unless you take out the bulb in the back of the cluster (which you also loose the door open light and the seatbelt one). I heard someone mentioned taking out the SRS fuse but I didn't I didn't know if anything else ran off of that and have been to lazy to look it up.

*As for cruise control... I haven't heard anyone retaining that when putting in an aftermarket wheel/hub. I rarely RARELY used it so I dont miss it at all. You need to take the SRS unit off when you put on a new hub or else it wont fit. The cruise control is intigrated into that unit.... so I am not sure how you would get around that for cruise control. Horn yes.. cruise no.

Anyways hope that helps some
