There is a very interesting article about Roger Foo in the latest Sports Compact Car. The guy could not even afford to blueprint his engine. I suspect he got tired of having almost zero sponsorship.

Taz Harvey just got sponsored 2 new Si from Honda for next year. He's out of the ITR for now.

I think it is easier for Taz to get sponsorship from Honda because his dad owns Dublin Honda...a dealership in...uh...I dunno where.... in Dublin?

obviously when you are "part of the family".... things get easier for you......

It's too bad...I was always rooting for the Fooman.... but as a driver.... you go where you have to go.... I think it's Hondas loss and Mazda's gain.....

Its a shame we lost R MAN FOO.

I can't wait to see the RSX and TypeR duke it out on the track. It will be interesting to see what the rules allow.

Realtime will likely be running the RSX S. I wonder if they're selling their ITRs?

I noticed Mirko racing who used to run the Mazda 626 will be running RSX's next year but I don't see ex-BTCC driver/champ David Leslie on their lineup. Does anyone know if he is staying in the series or had he returned to ETCC or DTCC?

I remember chatting with Roger at Mosport. He's very approachable and makes himself accessible to the grass roots fan. It's really too bad Honda didn't support him.

I'll be surprised if Kleinubing returns with Realtime. He had aspirations of driving the NSX in the JTCC series and felt he had outgrown the Speedvision series. With him punting off his teamate Hugh Plumb off the track twice this year, while Plumb was leading the race, I wonder if he will return and if so, what tension has developed between them within the team . Can't wait for next year!

see you guys at Mosport!

Roger Foo made the best of what he had, like everyone said it's honda's loss. I think with full sponsership he will kick serious ***. Too bad Taz couldn't bring him aboard as a team and get him the sponsership!!

Good Luck Roger!!! I will be a fan no matter what, well as long as he doesn't go vw, just kiddin

Well, Honda blew it not sponsoring Roger. HE sure in hell had cult hero status in the Honda ranks! It's too bad, 'cuz I would have loved to see him run the EK he was talking about building.

Oh well, I'll still root for him even if he's in a Mazda.

Perhaps Kleinubing will run a second NSX in GT with Realtime ... afterall there are two Realtime spots listed in the GT category. I would also guess that Realtime will return some of the DC2's for competition and run 1 or 2 RSX's also. David Leslie has returned to the BTCC.

well ever since Prodrive stopped running the Accord in BTCC I kind of lost interest in that series. The Vauxhall (European Chevy) is not my cup of tea. It's an interesting and entertaining series but they're almost as bad as the Nascar boys: I've never seen so many people punt other people off the track deliberately in my life (get out of my way or I'll push you out of my way).

The DTM series is a yawner: Mercedes CLK and Audis TT kicking Opels pants and Mercedes winning (predictable). We rarely see DTCC or ETCC.

The Australian Toca Series has been a non-Honda event in the past. Don't see much of that either...just the Aussie V8's : Holden (Aussie Chevy) and Ford.....

We never get to see ant Japanese Series live or close to live...Best Motoring videos just about is the only way to get you fix on those. I hear that Suzuka is almost like a themepark complex now. They have hotels museums golf course on site with the track. I'd love to go when they have the NSX day or ITR day or the Japanese GP : http://www.suzukacircuit.co.jp/stec/...ent/index.html

The macau races: we just see the pics and maybe the F3 coverage but not the supporting races.

So really the stock Honda series is the North American series: Speedvision Touring car and Grand Am. We are it for ITRs, GSRs, and Civics that we all own.

Instead of watching, why not participate in a all-Honda bumper to bumper? These are private owners, so no one want to punt cars here.

Hello all!

I think that entry list has a typo! Me in a Mazda! Who are they kidding?
Thank you for the props! I just want to let you guys know. Honda's support program is about parts and contingency! It's a great program for all the Honda teams in ProRacing. They have supported me just like most other Honda teams. Only one team gets more than the normal and I'm sure you know for which team I am referencing. Taz gets the same support as I had received from Honda.

The real issue of next season comes from the schedule! I could not raise the amount of funding needed to do the follow up season properly. I spent approx. $60k of my own money this past season, and thats on a shoe string! Next seasons schedule of 9 east coast events would mean I would have to commit all my time to being on the east coast. This equates to more money for us left coasters. It gets more and more expensive and more difficult logistically to operate a west coast team in an east coast scheduled series.

This is the best racing going. Speedvision and SCCA ProRacing have a great package and I'm not about to walk away from it! So I had to look for the support of a forward thinking and creative manufacturer with an agressive marketing plan which I better fit.

I know you can all appreciate my hard work for the better of the aftermarket and the series in which I participate. OK, take off your Honda hats for a moment and answer the next question.

OK, Which car looks better? The Protege 5 or the new 2002 Civic Si? Don't hold back! I know you are Honda people, so am I, but,dam_ it's tall and narrow. And the interior?

Thank you for your support over the past season. We have a new race season upon us now and we will do all we can to better our standings from the previous season. Keep in mind, we would not have been able to capture the Rookie Title in Touring Car without a Honda automobile. We all know it! You can't beat Honda performance and reliability on a budget. Until now!!!

The following companies are responsible for our recent success.
American Honda, ACT Clutch, Skunk2, ScottBrownDesign.com, Griffin Motorwerke, Fiber Images, Recaro, GAB, ADVAN, Comptech, H&R Special Springs, SMS Products, Energy Suspension, SCCA, Speedvision, Toyo Tires and Derek Daly.

Regards,

Roger Foo http://www.foofighterracing.com

Thanks Brian,

Hey, maybe if my new car is not done I may have to rent a car for the Sebring event. Hey - Taz has an extra car! Maybe he'll let me drive one! haha

Man.... there is a following of Roger Foo that I'm not even totally aware of....
my dad who happens to HATE cars enjoys watching the occasional racing for the crashing and punting action and has asked me numerous times or has commented on the "fella who's last name is Foo (said in Chinese ofcourse) "

here's a man who is almost in his 60s who enjoys gardening and knows Roger FOO!??

Honda better know what they might be giving up here......
