they announced it at SEMA last year.....now that NDRA already has theirs out, I would expect the same

Hopefully they will do as good a job or better this year to make travel/schedule easy for all teams

From what I hear everyone is gonna cut back their schedules because they are tired of juggling two sanctioning bodies. Not many people have the money to follow both NHRA and NOPI. On top of that, a lot of people went broke doing all those events. Next year will be quite interesting as far as what events racers will go to.

Ron Lumas told me they were going to run half the NOPI races and half the NHRA races next year.

Some teams will go away or cut back; new ones will come in; others will expand....just like every other year

obviously geography, sponsors, level of fun and comfort, budget and how you do the first few races in points dictate where you will go for the rest of the season

After the crap in Jersey they said they would never race in the NHRA again. It didn't take them long to change their minds.

I would like to see an expansion, but it seems that NOPI is sticking east coast more and I bet NHRA is going to stick west coast more. Work I heard from the NHRA that it was going to remain at 10 races next year, but that was about 2 months ago and a couple of disapointing events.

i spoke to rob @ the finals on sunday - they are going to try to double up their events at the more popular tracks next year...at least that is tentative.

they are holding a meeting @ sema i believe to discuss the future of the sc racing series.

I just got done with the new schedule page (which is only NDRA at this point) and they are straying from the Northeast It seems they are moving into the midwest moreso than anything, but it has been where the most anxious and biggest crowds were, so I guess it makes sense. Its not the drag-racing meccas that we immediately think of; but after seeing the craziness in Alabama, i'm not suprised at all with their moves.

I will add NHRA (and others) as soon as they are announced http://kindleracing.com/race_schedule.htm

I was a little suprised by that movement as well, but Nopi is more well known in the South with their car shows and stores. I think the NHRA is flexing its muscle a bit with some tracks and giving those places an "option" on who they want to deal with for the future. I don't think it will be long before you see the NHRA putting more pressure on more tracks if they can put together more events like Jersey and Pomona. It is a numbers game right now and both the NHRA and Nopi had good and bad ones last year.

You would think that they would have them available BEFORE SEMA. This will give individuals the opportunity to have a porfolio ready with their race schedule for the next season. It is hard to have a porfolio with no expected race dates especially if you are meeting a potential sponsor at SEMA.

Put your portfolio together stating your intention to run which ever series you choose, and state that you are awaiting a schedule release from that series. If you choose to run more than one series list them all and state how many races for each you plan on doing, and list the locations that you can. Let the sponsor know you will get them a finalized version after SEMA for thier review.

That should take care of any questions that they would have on your racing schedule.

Yes that is correct. But being on the other side. We like to see it already written out as to where this person is going and not fill-in the dates later.

I am just stating it would make it alot easier for racers who can prepare ahead of time and not have to correct it at a later date.

So, if you are looking at a proposal for Matt Scranton and he tells you he plans on running all of the NHRA events, all of the NDRA events and 4 IDRC events, are you going to look at his proposal differant because he has given you no dates?

You would be planning on 24+ events with this one racer, why would the dates matter?

Exluding the Big Dogs, that is a completely different Ball game.

For simplicity it is easier to see it already planned, especially for smaller individuals, so they can begin planning for the next season.

So if you are not a "Big Dog" you must prove to the sponsor that you are not lying to them about the schedule?

That is absolutely crazy, we have had so many Pro Racers with big names in this industry not do what they say or are suppose to do, but yet the Sponsors still continue to toss money thier way and make the little guys jump through hoops.

This just does'nt sound right or fair.

WTF ? why are you all over this. All He stated was that it would be nice to have a schedule so someone can include it in their porfolio. How is that not fair?
who the hell wants to go back and correct things and adjust them.

I don't care either way if they have a schedule out or not.
All that I am saying is why does it matter the dates if a racer tells you he is going to run so many races?

So you guys think Ara, Gary G, Paul E, Skunk2, GM, Mopar, Scranton, Hartford, Tactics, Kenny T. and other big names don't have thier 05 proposals together with a tentitive schedule on them? Sure they do, I have 3 of them here on my desk right now. So why make one group prove thier intentions and give another group immunity?
