while i was doing my shceduled maintainace at my honda dealer i noticed a spoiler in the "accessories" booklet that was in the waiting room, when i asked the guy at the parts counter he said it would not fit my car and that in fact the 04 SI has a completely different tailgate....is this true?

 

No, not true.
It will fit.

 

the guy said the tailgate parts were completely different part numbers....is this too a lie?

note: i dont want to buy one just wondering if there is a change to the rear quarter panels and tailgate

 

Honda changes part #'s around at times, and it never means they actually changed the part. I have a 02 Si with the HFP spoiler and side skirts, installed myself, no problems.

Honda dealer guys dont know anymore about your car than you do. Trust in all of us H-T guys. EP3 is EP3.

Yes, I have both the HFP spolier and a UK CTR spolier here. The only difference was the side where you'd have to cut the UK CTR spoiler to fit the USDM hatch.
