92 Accord trunk, viberation problems
Recently i purchased some subwoofers and an amp, and since ive broken the rear view mirror 3 times...due to bass. I was just driving home from work and noticed the rattle in the trunk has gone up drastically. Had a look in the trunk and found the power attena was snapped in half (yes im not lying). This was also due to the bass. I took out the entire power attena and found dere was a hose attached to it which went into the side of the trunk. This did not solve the rattle, but at the side of the trunk ive located a vent with a flap and found that the rattling coming from the vent has gone up drastically and is the main cause for the new ratteling. I have no idea what to do now and i got a hole where the attena used to be. What do i do? Also i took out all the carpetting in the trunk, could that harm my car?
The best thing that I could think of for you is to Dyna-Mat everything. That will help reduce the vibration to a point, but when you have that much bass, there is nothing that I know of that will completely get rid of it. Somehow I doubt that the bass snapped your antenna though. Either way, go to a junkyard or "U pull it" around your area and get an antenna and see if the Dyna-Mat helps out. GL.
Yeh I found the problem apparently a screw got lodged into the rear spaeker somehow and ripped the cone. The speakerss wernt even hooked up and i removed the rears and its abck to its normal viberations. Today the flip down sun protector dealiy fell off :D, anyways dyna mat is quite expensive is dere anytihng else i can get?
