Default So i spraypainted my trunk today...

Hey guys, some of you may know of my project to spraypaint the disgusting looking parts of my car. More specifically the trim on the targa top of My del sol, the rear bumper, the right mirror, and the trunk. Well, i've been told that its a bad idea, and it will look bad, but dispite what you say, and even the guys at Ace Hardware...it acually looks decent. I will get some pics soon, but i did just the trunk in this order, and it looks like a normal paint job:

1: wet sand ALOT
2: Apply even coat of spray paint
3: wet sand..yet again
4: apply another even coat of spray paint
5: wet sand, once more
6: clear coat it, and wax it

I still have some work to go, but about half my trunk looks REALLY nice, (havent finished sanding the other half ) Post comments, thoughts, ill have pics up soon

Yeah, spray paint is awesome if you know what you're doing. 80% of my car is Ford blue engine block enamel and people don't believe me when I tell them it's spray paint...

i wish, i'd love a black del sol....i'd have to take out my interior to paint the door jams though, which would be a bitch and a half, though i wouldnt have to sand them like the exterior. All in all im to lazy to do that, so i stuck with the milano red. The red spraypaint i found, when sanded, waxed and polished, is almost the same color, if not hte same (couldnt tell, too dark out )
