well im trying to help a friend out with this.... he recently purchased a crx with a dohc zc swap in it. the distributor took a **** and now i cant fiqure out what dizzy to use. it is a zc dizzy, but it has an si plug on it. meaning its ghetto *** wiring. the wires for the cam angle sensor are just attached straight off the dizzy. my question is, can he buy a dizzy what will plug up to the si wiring harness and also bold straight on the zc head.? i know i will have to maybe cut into the wires for the cam angle sensor, but my main question is, is there a dizzy that will plug right into the si wiring harness and also bolt up to the head? thanks
the distributor you need is 88-89 Integra - it will not connect to the Si plug on the harness - someone wired it wrong - they should have replaced the connector on the harness instead of the distributor, which is what you should do now - get the 5 wire harness side connector from 88-89 Integra or 88-91 CRX DX or 88-91 Civic DX or STD and install it on the harness with wire colors in that connector matching the wire colors in the connector on the distributor - you will have 2 wires left over that go to the Cylinder Position Sensor on the exhaust cam, a blue with green stripe and a blue with yellow stripe - connect those to the green plug on the CPS, again matching the colors - if it doesn't fire right up, try switching the 2 white wires in the distributor connector
