Default O2 Sensor Problem

Ok i searched but could really find what i was lookin for.
if you wire up a O2 sensor incorrectly will it normally come on right away or will it take awhile.
i got a new O2 sensor in my car but still got the O2 code, only when i drive the car hard, which would lead me to belive something is wrong with the wiring possibly?
any help appreciated
thanks

hmmmmmmmmmm... sounds to me like you have a bad sensor... and YES, new sensor can be faulty too...

Is it Honda OEM sensor or some aftermarket sensor?

Why would you rewire the sensor if you just replaced it? If you rewired it, did you isolate the wires properly? Does your wire touches something hot like engine block, exhaust pipe or manifold, anything????

yes its a honda oem sensor, and if they were touching anything why would that cause a cel?
i got the motor from a friend and i know he just put in a new O2 and it was running fine in his car, thats why i thought maybe the wiring was messed up. but it only comes on after hard driving and i let it come back down to a normal speed.
