Default head swap

now iv heard of a guy you had a 2.0L 12 valve FI accord motor and then put a 16 valve prelude head on the accord motor, machined i down 25 thous, different cam, blah blah blah, my question is why would you do that, just for the extra 4 valves? or does the lude head flow better then the accord? just curous as to why, any thoughts would be nice

12 valve motors in accords are from way back in the day...i'm not familiar with this particular instance, but swapping to that head could yield gains for several reasons...first of all, yes, 4 valves usually flow better than 3...second of all, that head you are referring to most likely as 2 cams instead of just the one, giving you the ability to tune the intake and exhaust cams seperately from one another...and finally, the head you are referring to is probably a vtec head, making the motor more efficient at lower and higher rpms...hope this helps...
