Default Do you do your own water pump/t-belt changes?

I am about to pay a friend $500.00 for parts and labor to do my timing belt, water pump, and many other various tasks. Anyways, I'd love for myself to be able to change the parts myself however I do not think I could do it.

What type of tools are required in removing a water pump and or timing belt?

DIY is always good. If you've never done it or have no clue whatsoever, either search for howto's and do it, or watch your friend do it and learn. That $500 for those labors is not bad. A timing belt change and adjustments would cost me $400 at my local mechanic shop alone.

crazy.. do it yourself for 100 bucks, (timing belt and water pump) and save 300 bucks. If you don't know how, get a service manuel, it has step by step instructions. Search on Honda-tech for more info.

300 bucks is forge rods... Spend your money wisely!

I'm sorry if this is useless, I dunno what block you have.

Water pump isn't even worth mentioning, assuming you have the right one (advance sold me the wrong one for my b16) you just unbolt old one, pry off and bolt the new one on.
