I'm not flamming anyone or thing here but I saw some kit some where that you could install and it would shoot a flame out of your stock exhaust. for all of those interested in having fire come out their tailpipe

Yes, that is my father's Pantera. The flames are caused by the location of the cats on that car, since they're very close to the mufflers. When the motor gets some exercise the cats get a bit toasty and start to dump flames out the exhaust at idle even. Nailing the throttle results in a huge flare being shot out of the exhaust. No mechanical foolery involved, just a mid-engine cat-equipped Pantera quirk I suppose. Many hours of carb tuning never aided the problem, though FINALLY the thing has strong throttle response. I whipped out the digital and got some shots of the car while at the gas station on the drive home. At night, the flames look especially amusing since they're more clearly visible than at the autox course. I'm certain the flames discouraged tailgaters on the highway. After all, I don't think anyone will want to have the front end of their car ignited. I know I certainly did not!
That (the flaming Pantera) kicks ***.
One of my proudest moments came at CMP in August, where I had separate people tell me the following things...
1. "Your brake rotors are glowing entering turn 1"
2. "Your car spits out a fireball when you downshift for 11"
Shortly thereafter I developed an exhaust leak and had to replace my wheel bearings...

So are there any results from the 12/16 event?

Karen

That's such a god damned ******* cool-*** bitchin' picture. (pardon my French....and my English)
Air under all four tires is cooler than any fire out of a coffee can.
